Preemie to 18 Month Sizes

Materials:

4-ply worsted weight cotton yarn (I used Sugar’n Cream)

H (5 mm) Hook

Yarn Needle

2 Buttons

Stitches:

fhdc – foundation half double crochet

hdc – half double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

Sole

Ch 2.

R1: 7 fhdc starting in the 2^nd chain from the hook.. 4 hdc in last fhdc. 1 hdc in next 6 sts. 4 hdc in last st. Sl st with 1^st fhdc to join. (22 sts)

R2: 2 hdc in same st as sl st.  1 hdc in next 6 sts. 2 in next, 1 in next, 2 in next, 1 in next, 2 in next. 1 hdc in next 6 sts. 2 in next, 1 in next, 2 in next, 1 in next. Sl st to join. End off. (28 hdc)

Straps

Find the center stitch on the toe by folding the sole in half. Attach marker. (This should be located in between two stitches)

Row 3: Working in top loops only, attach yarn in 4^th st from the center of the toe.  Work 8 fhdc beginning in same st. Sl st in 8^th st from toe on other side.

Row 4: Sl st in next st toward heel. 10 fhdc beg in same st. Sl st in 4^th st from center of heel (this should be located in between two stitches) on opposite side.

Row 5: Sl st in next st. Work 8 fhdc beg in same st. Work 2 sl sts to secure in 4^th st from the center of the toe on the opposite side. End off.

Make another sole and sc together with bottom of shoe facing towards you, working in inside loops that face each other only.

Attach button if desired. Weave in ends.

Size: 0-3 mos (3.5”  long x 1.5” wide)
